That's The Way It Goes
Unveiling the Dance of Contrasts and Unity in Life's SymphonyLyrics
Take the contrast between the words we use
Contrasting the value between explicit and implicit language
Explicit and implicit
Highlighting the significance of explicit and implicit expressions
They’re very valuable words
Emphasizing the value of these words
What is explicit, what’s on the
What is evident or apparent externally
Outside, that’s, say
Referring to how individuals present themselves publicly
How we come on publically
Publicly declaring certain qualities or characteristics
Explicitly we are thus and so we have a fight
Explicitly stating something that leads to conflict or competition
We’re in competition, say, in business
Competing openly, especially in business
Explicitly
Clear and direct statements made openly
But implicitly, we’ve worked this out
Implicitly agreed upon without public knowledge
We’ve agreed, in a secret way
A secret agreement known only to the involved parties
That nobody knows about
A hidden understanding or arrangement
That this competition is extremely valuable
Recognizing the hidden value in competition or opposition
To both of us
Beneficial for both parties despite the apparent conflict
Take it politically, for example
Applying the concept politically
Let’s take the situation of Russia
Using the example of Russia and the United States
Versus the United States
Openly acknowledging the conflict between ideologies
Explicitly, in public
The public narrative of significant ideological differences
This has to be a big fight
Emphasizing the necessity of a visible confrontation
These two ways of life, these two ideologies
Highlighting the opposition between different ways of life
Are opposed
Describing the opposing ideologies
They say, "brrrraagh, " you know?
Expressing a sound to denote conflict or aggression
But behind the scenes it’s all
The hidden or undisclosed planning
Been carefully worked out you bet it has
Secret agreements that have been carefully established
That this opposition has to happen
Recognizing the necessity of this opposition
Because our economy depends
Stating the dependency of economies on this opposition
On it, and their economy depends on it
Highlighting mutual dependence for economic reasons
And everybody knows this who’s smart
Known by those who are astute or intelligent
But there are a lot of
Many individuals aware of this reality
People who get taken in
People who are deceived or misled
By the propaganda, and they
Being influenced by propaganda
Should be taken in
Those who are deceived are necessary for the system to function
Because that makes the thing work
Emphasizing the role of deception in maintaining the system
It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
Reiteration of the idea that despite apparent opposition or duality, there exists an underlying unity or agreement
It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-And everything works this way
-When swans start to mate, they’re not
-Sure what they’re supposed to do
-And they begin to fight
-I had a long talk about this with C g jung
-He lived on the edge of Lake Zürich
-And he had a little summer house right
-On the water’s edge
-And there were many swans there
-And I was getting up after the
-End of a conversation with him
-And we were beginning to walk back to
-The main house, and I said
-"Isn’t it true that swans are monogamous?"
-And he said, "Yes, they are"
-He said, "Do you know
-I have had most interesting relationships
-Between these swans and many
-Of my female patients who
-Thought they were homosexual"
-And Jung wasn’t a sexual snob – I mean
-He understood all the legitimacy of
-All kinds of sexual variations but he said
-"It has been a point of
-Departure for our discussions"
-And he said, "It’s a very funny thing
-That, when they begin to mate, they
-Start fighting and they don’t know what
-It’s all about, and then, suddenly
-The fight turns into lovemaking"
-So that’s what I mean
-Underneath opposition there is love
-Underneath duality there’s unity
-That Tweedledum and Tweedledee agreed
-To have a battle
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-See, here’s that weaving principle
-That things hold together by over-under
-Under-over, over-under, under-over
-Over-under, under-over
-And that creates a stuff, it creates a
-Fabric, it creates clothing
-It creates shelter
-It creates what we call matter
-Matter – Mater – Mother
-And also, the same word, māyā, "illusion"
-See? The world as a marvelous illusion
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-It’s crazy, but that’s the way it goes
-A marvelous illusion a marvelous illusion
-A marvelous illusion a marvelous illusion
