As a modern man, I have betrayed the natural course of evolution.

Questioning and seeking reasons for my destructive behavior.
I see my ancestors spend with careless abandon,
My ancestors spent resources recklessly, assuming an endless supply.
Assuming eternal supply, modern man,
As a modern man, I am a mere example of wasteful carbon-based existence.
Just a sample of carbon-based wastage,
I am a tragic outcome of human existence, contributing to the degradation of the planet.
