The Dead World
Reshaping Desolation: Becoming Architects of LifeLyrics
This world was dead from the start
This world has been lifeless and devoid of vitality since its inception.
When the ancients first found this planet
When the ancient beings first discovered this planet,
It was nothing but a wasteland
It was initially a desolate and barren expanse.
A roiling sea
A turbulent and churning sea,
Chaos and entropy
Filled with disorder and decay.
Uninhabited
Devoid of inhabitants,
Uninhabitable
Unsuitable for habitation.
No sign of life
No signs of life were present,
A million miles away from home
A million miles away from their origin,
No light to guide
No guiding light was visible,
Transplanting the seeds of hope
Yet they planted seeds of hope.
They moved the mountains into place
They reshaped the landscape, moving mountains into position,
Terraformed the surface to their will
Terraforming the surface according to their desires,
They sculpted oceans out of desert space
Converting deserts into oceans with precision,
Flawless design in each detail
Perfectly designed in every intricate detail.
A formless void
A shapeless emptiness,
A toxic tempest
A poisonous storm,
A new beginning
A new genesis emerging within their grasp,
Within their hands
Within their control.
They carved the rivers out of dust
They carved rivers from dust,
Transplanted forests where they stand
Transplanted forests to stand,
Broke up the fallow planet's crust
Broke the planet's crust for cultivation,
Injected life into the land
Infused life into the barren land.
No way to see it then
At that time, the transformation was imperceptible,
No way to predict
No way to foresee the changes,
Hidden beneath the skin
Hidden beneath the surface,
The host could not detect
The host (the planet) couldn't detect.
There is a curse upon the water
There is a curse on the water,
And now it lives within us all
Now residing within all of us,
It is a blight that will devour
A blight that consumes,
It will devour us it will devour us all
Devouring everyone, an inevitable fate.
Lost forever
Lost eternally,
Lost inside our own flesh
Trapped within our own physical existence.
