I observe the passerby

I am cursed, I cannot come any nearer

Although I don't know why

So I weave and weave

The knight, he arrives in splendour

He calls out, but I do not surrender
The knight calls out, but the weaver resists surrendering, possibly resisting conventional expectations.
For if I do, I can't return
Highlighting the consequence of surrender – inability to return.
I go on and weave
Continuing to weave despite the knight's arrival, emphasizing personal autonomy.
For my tapestry
Reiterating the purpose of weaving for the tapestry, reinforcing the theme of individual life creation.
And the years, they flow by like the river
Comparing the passage of time to a river flowing through a town.
That weaves to the town, down below
Describing the shadow's growth as time passes, possibly symbolizing aging or the passage of life.
My shadow grows longer and dimmer
Emphasizing the continuing act of weaving the web alone.
I weave my web alone.
