We were saved in this Hope
We found salvation in the expectation of a future reality
But this Hope isn't seen
Yet, this hope is not physically evident
The children of God
As children of God, we yearn for ultimate freedom
Long to be free
A strong desire to be liberated
But I am already not yet
I exist in a state of "already, not yet"
I'm chosen but still growing
Being chosen by God but still undergoing development
Said I am already not yet
A repeated acknowledgment of the paradoxical state
I'm adopted but not home yet
Being adopted into God's family but not yet in our final home
You declare me righteous
God declares me righteous
But Hear my confessions
Yet, I confess my imperfections
An imperfect repentance
An acknowledgment of incomplete repentance
Still you work in my weakness
Despite my weaknesses, God works in and through me
Cause I'm Under grace
I am under the influence of God's grace
But don't let sin reign
However, I am urged not to let sin dominate
Cause you're not enslaved
Because I am not in bondage to sin
Be holy

But I am already not yet
