Grave Dance
Grave Dance: Defying Conformity and Embracing LiberationLyrics
I stack into pieces
I am falling apart, disintegrating.
All that you owned
You have lost everything you possessed.
Threw it in the attic
You discarded those belongings by storing them away.
And let it die alone
You left them in a place to wither and perish alone.
Old fading photos
All that remains are old, fading photographs.
Is all you can claim
You can only lay claim to these memories.
You'll be laying underground
You will eventually be buried, and your voice will be silenced.
With nothing left to say
In death, there will be nothing more to express or communicate.
But I'll keep dancing
Despite the inevitable, I will continue to dance.
Dancing
I will keep dancing consistently.
Everyday
Every day, without fail.
Debunking every ethos
I am challenging and disproving every guiding principle or belief system.
Kill every golden age
Destroying every era of prosperity or excellence.
Bury all their stories
Concealing or putting an end to the narratives that confined us.
That put us in a cage
Suppressing the stories that imprisoned us.
And when I'm older
When I grow older,
I hope they do the same
I hope others will follow suit and dismantle established narratives.
But I pray I'm dead or dying
However, I wish to be dead or nearing death before reaching your age.
Before I get your age.
Expressing a desire to avoid the experiences associated with your age.
And I'll keep dancing
I will persist in dancing despite the challenges.
Dancing
I will keep dancing consistently.
Everyday
Every day, without fail.
