Good people all, this Christmas-time,

What our good God for us has done,
Reflecting on the benevolent actions of God for humanity.
In sending His beloved Son.
Acknowledging the sending of God's beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
With Mary holy we should pray
Encouraging prayer to God with love, emphasizing Mary's holiness.
To God with love this Christmas Day:
Highlighting the connection of love with Christmas Day.
In Bethlehem upon that morn
Referencing the birthplace of Jesus, Bethlehem, on that special morning.
There was a blessed Messiah born.
Acknowledging the birth of the blessed Messiah on that day.
Near Bethlehem did shepherds keep

Depicting the presence of God's angels causing fear among the shepherds.
To whom God's angels did appear,

The shepherds went the Babe to find,

And as God's angel had foretold,

They did our Saviour Christ behold.

Within a manger He was laid,

Attending to the Lord of Life

Who came on Earth to end all Strife

With Mary holy we should pray
