A reminder that predicting the future is not within human capability.
Last night I saw
Recalling a recent dream or revelation.
A vision of your paradise;
Describing an envisioned utopia or ideal world.
A great walled city
Depicting an impressive, protected city illuminating the night.
Lighting up the night sky
A symbol of hope or aspiration that contrasts with the current reality.
The rest of us left for dead
Those not part of the idealized vision are abandoned or neglected.
Out here in the desert
People outside the utopia, facing harsh conditions in the wilderness.
Is this even real to you
Questioning the reality of the speaker's experiences.
The spores inside my lungs?
Awareness of something harmful or toxic affecting the speaker.
The insects crawling
Highlighting the presence of small, intrusive beings.
Over everything
Symbolic representation of the speaker's past words and actions.
That I have ever said and done
Perceiving the truth despite challenges and illusions.

A piercing insight, seeing through deception or falsehood.

And it's a destitute
Describing a ruined and desolate environment.

Were waiting for
Anticipating a significant moment of judgment or reckoning.
That precious judgement day
Waiting for a day when consequences will be faced.
When the sky will
Envisioning a dramatic event affecting everything.
Fall on it all anyway
Imagining a celestial occurrence impacting the world.
Were waiting for that precious
Continuation of the anticipation for a significant judgment day.
Judgement day to arrive
Expressing the prolonged wait for the awaited judgment day.
