Luisa's Bones
Luisa's Bones: A Tale of Vengeance and LiberationLyrics
We came,
We arrived
by the rising of the river,
Close to the river's edge as it swelled
on a river with no name,
On an unnamed river
in the summer monsoon rain,
During heavy rains in the summer
to wash away luisa's bones,
To cleanse Luisa's remains
from the ghost who guards her grave.
From the spirit guarding her grave
She lays by the ride of firing anvils,
She rests near ringing blacksmith tools
in a house with cast iron gates,
In a home secured by strong gates
and underneath red candles weights,
And under the weight of red candles
for her killers to come home and,
Awaiting her assailants' return
for a fine revenge to pay.
Anticipating a just retaliation
She goes for a ride,
She embarks on a journey
on these hills they are blind,
In a landscape where perception is hindered
copper steel iron ore,
Mentions of materials like copper, steel, and iron ore
fifty years maybe more,
Spanning around fifty years or more
searching in the mine,
Seeking in the mine
one half century of lies,
Decades of deception and falsehood
you can see on the horizon she is soon going home,
Anticipation of her imminent return
you take the road I'll take the river,
Separating paths, one taking the road, the other the river
you bring the fire I'll bring the jewels,
One bringing fire, the other jewels
and in the evening underneath the roaring sky,
Meeting beneath a tumultuous sky
we will meet and wait and pray for the monsoon,
To wait and hope for the arrival of heavy rains
and we will wait,
-
till the rising of the river,
Waiting until the river swells
when the summer monsoon rain,
When the summer rains pour down
comes to wash the old remains,
To cleanse the old remnants
past the beach into the ocean,
Beyond the shore into the sea
for to carry us away,
To carry them away
setting free Luisa's bones from,
Freeing Luisa's remains from the guarding spirit
from the ghost who guards her grave
Releasing her from the ghostly protection
