Getting There
Navigating Dreams: Reflecting on Life's Journey in 'Getting There'Lyrics
Sometimes I think philosophy
Sometimes I contemplate philosophical thoughts
About the future and where I want to be
Reflecting on the future and my aspirations
Down the road from now I've got my dreams
In the foreseeable future, I hold onto my dreams
But they could all come crashing down
Recognizing the potential for my dreams to crumble
And I think that several years from now
Anticipating challenges several years ahead
I'll have decisions to make and I don't know how
Facing future decisions with uncertainty
I'm going to make them but I'll try
Committing to trying my best in making those decisions
To make a difference before I die
Striving to make a positive impact before my death
We all have dreams
Acknowledging that everyone harbors dreams
And in my heart
Expressing hope for the realization of personal dreams
I hope my are granted
Desiring a fortunate beginning in pursuing those dreams
With a head start
Seeking an advantage or opportunity in the pursuit
If I had my way I'd travel the world
Imagining a life where I can explore the entire world
I'm be free without a care
Yearning for a carefree and liberating existence
I guess I'll see you when I get there
Expressing the intention to meet others at the destination
I see a man in shabby clothes
Observing a man in destitute conditions
A cardboard box is his only home
Noting a cardboard box as his sole dwelling
I tend to wonder of his dreams
Pondering about the unfulfilled dreams of the man
Where did they go wrong, now on his knees
Questioning the path that led him to his current state
He prays to a god that failed him
Observing his faith in a deity that seems to have failed him
It's getting dark, the candle dim
Noting the approaching darkness and fading hope
And I leave him with no response
Leaving the man without a suitable response
I hope I'll never be this lost
Expressing a desire to avoid experiencing such profound loss
