Lyrics
Start here
Start of a narrative or journey.
At the end of an era
Reflecting on the conclusion of a significant period.
Half-capped halls
Reference to partially filled halls, possibly symbolic of incomplete experiences or memories.
And what it meant to be
Contemplating the essence of existence or identity.
It all went away
Loss or disappearance of something important.
Along with my voice,
Personal expression silenced, suggesting a struggle or change.
Lions gathered around me
Feeling surrounded by challenges or adversaries.
The lights go down on stage
The conclusion of a performance or phase marked by diminishing lights.
And for half an hour
A moment of reflection lasting for a short duration.
Those years, in some way
Past years continue to influence and restrict.
Forever hold us back
A sense of being held back by the past.
But I'm still taken aback by that, in awe
Astonishment and admiration for bold individuals.
Of kids twice as bold as I
Recognition of the courage of younger generations.
We're all a little fake sometimes
Acknowledgment of occasional insincerity in oneself.
It's cliche at this point,
Awareness that certain sentiments are overused.
But something better than this town
Desire for something more fulfilling than the current environment.
Through with all charades
Finished with pretenses and superficiality.
I just want to scream out what I have to
An urge to express oneself authentically.
And it's probably worthless
Doubting the value of self-expression.
But at least that shit is off my chest
Relief in unburdening oneself, even if it seems insignificant.
Knocked at my window
Unexpected influence or inspiration arrives.
And stumbling, I let it in
Accepting new ideas or perspectives despite initial uncertainty.
A new sharp set of ideals
Embracing a fresh set of values or principles.
And the violence of a teenager, somehow
Acknowledging the intensity of adolescent emotions.
"how can we get them
Discussion about involving others in a future event or endeavor.
on the next show?"
Querying the process of engaging the audience.
He asks in his black t-shirt
A question about authenticity and self-identity.
"is it truly who you are, or it is some-"
The person asking the question departs suddenly.
He's gone, he's waving from the bar
The person is seen waving from a distance.
Avoiding everyone I know, man
Avoiding social connections and maintaining distance.
Couldn't possibly let them find out
Fear of revealing a current reality or truth to others.
That we have only now and
A realization of the fleeting nature of the present moment.
The needle's getting kinda worn out
Analogizing the wearing out of a needle to the passage of time.
