Ten long years spent in Terra Haute Penitentiary; finally gained freedom.

When I came home, I found Doreen with that man from Tennessee

Discovered Doreen, his partner, with a man from Tennessee upon returning home.

They fooled me once, they fooled me twice, but there sure as Hell won't be three

Feeling deceived twice before, determined not to be deceived a third time.

Deep down in them Tall Dark Pines, I know she's cheating on me

Feeling led astray from commitment and vows, disregarding moral and spiritual codes.

After a violent encounter, fled the town and headed towards the forest.

Intent on seeking justice by locating and confronting the wrongdoers hidden in the trees.

Feels like running away until faced with divine punishment.

I shot first and killed him, he didn't even see
