Camp Memories: Melodies of Friendship

The year was 2014
Setting the time frame, the year 2014.
I hopped on the camp bus, waiting to arrive at Camp ABK
Boarding the camp bus, anticipating arrival at Camp ABK.
It was my second year
Reflecting on the second year at the camp.
Once I got there, I met up with my cabin
Meeting up with the cabin upon arrival.
I made a few close friends
Forming close friendships with fellow campers.
And I became quite close, with one of my cabin counsellors
Building a strong connection with one of the cabin counselors named Caleb.
His name was Caleb
Identifying the cabin counselor as Caleb.
But his camp name was Voltron
Referring to Caleb by his camp name, Voltron.
That's what I called him, from that moment on
Adopting the name Voltron for Caleb.
We started doing our camp activities
Engaging in camp activities with Voltron.
It was my first time, canoeing
Experiencing canoeing for the first time.
I was scared
Expressing fear during the initial canoeing experience.
But Voltron was always there, for me, no matter what
Highlighting Voltron's consistent support and presence.
Fast forward to supper time
Transitioning to the evening mealtime.
Me and my cabin were all just having fun
Enjoying moments of fun and camaraderie with cabin mates.
Telling jokes, and making eachother laugh
Engaging in humor, telling jokes, and creating laughter.
Voltron stuck a pencil in his beard
Recalling a humorous moment where Voltron placed a pencil in his beard.
I always thought that was funny
Appreciating the humor in Voltron's actions.
We headed back up to our cabins
Returning to the cabins to prepare for the campfire.
To get ready, for the campfire
Anticipating the campfire event.
We watched a couple skits, sang a couple songs, and had a great time
Participating in campfire activities, including skits and songs.
But the mosquitos, were getting bad, and we were all getting tired
Noting the discomfort caused by mosquitoes and fatigue.
So we all decided, to head back up to our cabins
Deciding to return to the cabins due to mosquito activity and tiredness.
Me and my cabin mates, all had a lot of questions
Having questions and receiving answers from counselors.
And thankfully, our counsellors had a lot of answers
Approaching bedtime with the awareness of late hours.
It started getting late
Observing the campers falling asleep.
Everybody was falling asleep
Experiencing difficulty falling asleep personally.
But I just couldn't sleep
Voltron suggesting playing the guitar for everyone.
Voltron asked everybody, including me, if he, should play his guitar
Consenting to Voltron's proposal to play the guitar.
We all said yes
Voltron initiating guitar playing.
And that's when he started playing
Realizing the exceptional guitar skills of Voltron.
I never realised how good he was, until I got older
Recognizing Voltron's incredible guitar talent in hindsight.
But man, he was truly incredible
Expressing admiration for Voltron's guitar playing.
I finally fell asleep
Falling asleep peacefully while Voltron continues playing.
I swear I've never slept, so peacefully.

He was still playing his guitar
