We all came out to Montreux
We all traveled to Montreux
On the Lake Geneva shoreline

To make records with a mobile
To create recordings using a mobile recording studio
We didn't have much time
We had limited time available

Frank Zappa and his band, the Mothers, were present at the best available location
Were at the best place around
They were in the most ideal place at that time
But some stupid with a flare gun
However, someone foolishly used a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground
Resulting in the destruction of the location by fire
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
There was smoke rising from the water and fire in the sky due to the burning
They burned down the gambling house
The gambling house was set on fire
It died with an awful sound
It burned down with a terrible noise
Funky Claude was running in and out
A person named Funky Claude was helping to rescue children from the disaster
Pulling kids out the ground
He was pulling kids out from the ground or rubble
When it all was over
After the chaos subsided
We had to find another place
We had to search for an alternative location
But Swiss time was running out
But time was running out in Switzerland
It seemed that we would lose the race
It seemed like we might not find a suitable place in time
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
Again, there was smoke on the water and fire in the sky due to the ongoing chaos
We ended up at the Grand Hotel
We eventually relocated to the Grand Hotel
It was empty cold and bare
The hotel was vacant, chilly, and sparsely furnished
But with the Rolling truck Stones thing just outside
But the Rolling Stones' mobile recording studio was parked nearby
Making our music there
Allowing us to continue making music there
With a few red lights and a few old beds
We set up makeshift arrangements with limited resources
We make a place to sweat
Creating a space for intense work or effort
No matter what we get out of this
Regardless of the outcome, we'll always remember this experience
I know we'll never forget
Despite the challenges, this memory will stay with us
