These moneyed men would rule the ashes
Powerful individuals with wealth and influence aiming to control and exploit the aftermath.
They would take our home and melt it down
Threats to take away the home and destroy it for personal gain.
Pick the gold from the wreck of nature's palaces
Extracting valuable resources from the remains of the natural world.
Ah but we have a love they cannot drown
Despite challenges, the enduring strength of love that cannot be extinguished.
A cry in the hard rain falling
