Introduction to conflicting perspectives
"Y'all go to hell"
Expression of disdain or rejection
The other says "if I believed in God, I'd send you there"
Conditional rejection based on religious beliefs
But either way we make some space
Creation of space amid conflicting views
In the hell that we create
Acknowledgment of shared responsibility for societal issues
On both sides
Reiteration of the dual nature of societal problems
One side says
Introduction to another set of conflicting viewpoints
"Kill 'em all"
Advocacy for extreme measures against a group
The other says "line those killers up against the wall"
Support for justice through capital punishment
But either way some blood is shed
Recognition of bloodshed resulting from collective actions
Thanks to our cooperation
Ironically crediting cooperation for the violence
On both sides
Reiteration of shared culpability on both sides
On both sides
Emphasizing the universality of the issue
One side says
Introduction to a different pair of opposing views
"Man, take what's yours"
Encouragement for assertiveness and self-interest
The other says "live on no more than you can afford"
Advocacy for living within one's means
But either way we just possess
Highlighting the possessive nature of human behavior
And everyone ends up with less
Observation that possessions lead to collective deprivation
On both sides
Assertion of the universal impact of possessiveness
On both sides
Reiteration of the dual consequences on both sides
