When I was lost in sin and darkness
Experiencing a state of being lost in sin and darkness.
My lifeless heart lay powerless and still
Feeling spiritually lifeless and powerless.
But God in love and mercy undeserved
God, out of undeserved love and mercy, intervenes.
Made me alive and called me to Himself
God brings life, calling the individual to Himself.
Only by His grace I have been born again

Only by His grace I'm free for He forgave

Highlighting God's payment for every broken aspect.

So I can say it's only by His grace

So I'll press on in all my weakness
Determined to persevere despite personal weakness.
His Word assures His grace is all I need
Finding assurance in the sufficiency of God's grace.
His Spirit lives and ever works in me
Acknowledging the ongoing work of God's Spirit within.
Until that day I will be raised with Him
Anticipating resurrection with Him on a future day.
Only by His grace I'm slowly being changed

Becoming holy day by day for personal good and God's glory.

Praising Jesus for refining faith and making it pure.
So I can say it's only by His grace

How could I boast in my redemption
Avoiding pride in personal redemption achievements.
When every step His grace has carried me
Acknowledging every step being sustained by God's grace.
