Lyrics

Every one of us

Every individual among us

All of us, all of us

All of us, collectively

We are all capable of evil and righteousness

We all possess the capacity for both good and bad deeds

Our hearts are as the moon as the moon

Our emotions and nature are like the phases of the moon, having both light and darkness

Always a bright side and the darkness too

There is always positivity and negativity within us

These two men while not related lived like brothers shared one heart

Two unrelated individuals lived as close as brothers, sharing a deep bond

So much that their blood relations could scarcely tell these men apart

Their connection was so strong that even their biological family found it hard to differentiate between them

One spring morning while out riding they found a man along their path

During a spring morning ride, they encountered a merchant whose cart had overturned, spilling gold and injuring him

A wealthy merchant cart turned over scattered gold and broken back

There was scattered gold and the merchant was injured due to the accident

Every one of us

Each and every one of us

All of us, all of us

All people, collectively

We are all capable of evil and righteousness

We all possess the capability for good and bad actions

Our hearts are as the moon as the moon

Similar to the moon, our hearts encompass both light and darkness

Always a bright side and the darkness too

There's always a positive and a negative aspect within us

A fortune piled up for the taking

A significant amount of wealth was present, ripe for the taking

Each man wondered to himself of principle of consequence of a life with so much wealth

Each man pondered on the principles and consequences of possessing such immense wealth

The first stepped forward his eyes flashing

One of them moved forward eagerly, showing excitement in his eyes

He drew his sword and killed the man

He used his sword to kill the merchant

The other stood struck with horror at the actions of his friend

The other man was shocked and horrified by his friend's actions

Brother have you lost your senses?

One man questioned the sanity of the other

Murder for a bag of gold?

Expressing disbelief that murder was committed for a bag of gold

I’d sooner strike you down myself than live with this upon my soul

He would rather kill his friend than live with the guilt of such a heinous act on his conscience

The killer, overcome with passion, lashed out at his honest friend

The murderer, overwhelmed by emotions, attacked his honest friend

Who drew his sword in disbelief and killed him in his own defense

The friend defended himself by fatally striking the attacker

Every one of us

Every single one of us

All of us, all of us

All people, collectively

We are all capable of evil and righteousness

We all possess the capacity for both good and bad deeds

Our hearts are as the moon as the moon

Our emotions and nature are like the phases of the moon, having both light and darkness

Always a bright side and the darkness too

There is always positivity and negativity within us
