Lyrics
It woke up in me years ago
It awakened in me years ago
How this was meant to be
Understanding how things were supposed to unfold
All of those falsehoods plain to see
Revealing the evident falsehoods
They dug and hung their greed
Overshadowed by the influence of greed
Will there be profit
Questioning the existence of profit
You could see if only we were blind
Highlighting the irony of sighted blindness
Lonely and sheltered
Isolated and protected
Your life is free
Your life is liberated
But it's still one step behind
Yet still lagging one step behind
Just like me,
Similar to my experience
They tried their rules on me
Confronting attempts to impose rules
They tried their rules on me, me, me
Repeating the imposition of rules on oneself
I broke those chains and fucking split
Breaking free from oppressive chains
And so you and so you and so you and so you
Emphasizing the liberation for oneself and others
Pass all the fascist asses
Overcoming oppressive authorities
Ignore those classes of bottleneck masses
Disregarding societal barriers and constraints
Producing an all but awful stench,
Describing the repulsive consequences of corruption
Delivering a section of all the money stole and spent
Pointing to the division caused by stolen and spent wealth
As you start to recognize you're in the game
Realizing participation in the societal 'game'
You start to recognize you're in the game
Acknowledging one's involvement in the system
Growing afflictions head to toe,
Experiencing widespread afflictions
This never should have been
Expressing regret for the current state of affairs
But placing blame is cowardly
Rejecting the act of assigning blame as cowardice
Restructure must begin
Advocating for a necessary restructuring
Will there be profit
Raising the question of potential gain
You could see if only we were blind
Highlighting the contrast if only ignorance prevailed
Lonely and sheltered your life is free,
Isolated and protected, your life is liberated
But it's still one step behind
Yet still trailing one step behind
Except the playing board is you
Acknowledging the individual as an essential player in the societal 'game'
