This is the last day of our freshmen summer
This marks the end of our first summer as freshmen.
Text books n essays wait around the corner
Books and essays await us in the upcoming academic year.
Saying goodbye now to our best friends
Bidding farewell to our closest friends.
We'll try if we can to get home on the weekends
We'll strive to visit home during weekends.
I gotta run now

Go home and take a shower
Heading home for a quick shower.
We all can meet up
We can all gather at your house soon.
At your house in half an hour
Planning to meet in half an hour.
I can't get ready any faster
I can't prepare any faster.
We better make it quarter after
We should aim to meet at quarter after the hour.
Runnin' through the high school hallways
Navigating through the hallways of high school.
This is all we've known until now
This school environment has been our only reality until now.
I don't ever want to slow down
Expressing the desire to maintain a fast-paced life.
I'm packed, and I'm ready to go now
Ready and packed for the next phase of life.
All the days we've been traveling together
Reflecting on the shared experiences during our journey together.
I won't even look over my shoulder
Not dwelling on the past, looking forward instead.
Til I find a cure for getting older
Until a solution is found for the challenges of aging.
Now we'll all split up and go our own ways
Anticipating the separation as each person follows their own path.
Probably won't see each other the same ways
Expecting that future interactions may not be the same.
But no matter what happens I'll never forget
Regardless of what unfolds, the memories will be cherished.
All the times we've had together
Treasuring the moments shared during our time together.
