Lyrics

They're coming out of the walls,

People or things are emerging unexpectedly.

They're coming up through the streets,

They are emerging from the streets.

They're quicksilver wracked by some invisible beat.

They are lively and dynamic, affected by an unseen rhythm.

Right outside of your door the very stones come alive.

Right outside your door, the environment becomes animated.

They are the spring in the step, the distant look in the eyes.

They represent vitality, enthusiasm, and a dreamy gaze.

Put your Baudelaire away and come outside and play.

Stop reading Baudelaire and join the vibrant world outside.

Me and all my friends are poets of the deed,

The speaker and friends see themselves as agents of meaningful action.

We're exactly what this country needs.

They believe they are what the country needs.

We scratch until we're drunk, we drink until we bleed.

They work hard (scratch) and indulge (drink) passionately.

We are what we believe.

Their identity is shaped by their beliefs and actions.

Pentameter in attack, iambic pulse in the veins,

Using poetic meter aggressively, pulsating with poetic energy.

Free verse powered of the street light mains,

Free verse influenced by the urban environment.

An Iliad played out without a shadow of doubt

A conflict or story played out with absolute certainty.

Between the end of the club and the sun coming out.

Between the end of revelry and the dawn of a new day.

Leave Kerouac at his desk, we have romance in our risks.

Rejecting the traditional, finding romance in taking risks.

And here's what we believe,

Expressing their collective beliefs.

Before we get bored, let's be inspired,

Embracing inspiration before losing interest.

Let's ignore the applause and set the theater on fire,

Rejecting applause, embracing chaos and rebellion.

Fight every war like the drunks in the choir,

Approaching challenges with passion and determination.

Put our art where our mouths are: Poetry of the deed.

Manifesting their artistic intentions through action.

So enough with words and technical theses,

Dismissing verbosity and theories, opting for lived experience.

Let's grab life by the throat and live it to pieces.

Advocating for seizing life vigorously.

We can choose, we can change,

Emphasizing personal agency and the power to change.

And if we don't, we're just afraid of living life

Fearful of a life lived without the vibrancy of experience.

Like we're loved and in love and alive

Suggesting a fulfilling life involves love, self-love, and vitality.

To all the things we could be if we just believed

Encouraging belief in the potential of what one could become.

That life is too short to be lived without poetry.

Life is too short to be devoid of poetic, meaningful experiences.

If you've got soul darling now come on and show it me.

Challenging individuals to reveal their authentic selves.

But life is too long to just sing the one song,

Life is too long to stick to one monotonous path.

So we'll burn like a beacon and then we'll be gone.

Choosing to burn brightly and leave a mark before disappearing.
