Pickin' Wildflowers
Journey Through Night: A Poetic Unraveling of Life's TrialsLyrics
One night I set out to dwell
Embarking on a journey or contemplation
And saw the road was long as hell
Realizing the challenges and difficulties ahead
I knew I couldn't run that far
Acknowledging personal limitations and inability to escape
And my problem simplified itself
Facing a problem that became simpler or clearer
Pale as a moth, I wasn't well
Feeling unwell, possibly vulnerable or weakened
I took up pitching stones, weak throws
Engaging in a futile or ineffective activity (pitching stones)
Each one ringing a silent bell
Each failed attempt symbolized by a silent bell
Pickin' wildflowers into the night
Engaging in a calming or therapeutic activity (picking wildflowers)
Thought about bringing them home a thousand times
Contemplating the idea of sharing the wildflowers with someone
Picking wildflowers into the night
Continuing the soothing activity into the night
But then I left them dying in the light
Abandoning or neglecting the positive intentions in the light
I found a garden on that hill
Discovering something beautiful or meaningful (garden)
But didn't recognize it 'til
Realizing the significance only after spending time
I stuck around, laid in the ground
Remaining in a place, perhaps contemplating life
And felt the air get cold and still
Experiencing a change in the atmosphere, a shift in emotions
When the morning breaks, against my will
Compelled to act against personal desires or wishes
I get up and do things that don't matter to me
Engaging in meaningless or unfulfilling activities
Since you've fallen ill
Linking the actions to the illness of someone important
Pickin' wildflowers into the night
Repeating the comforting activity of picking wildflowers
Thought about bringing them home a thousand times
Contemplating the idea of sharing joy with others
Picking wildflowers into the night
Continuing the soothing activity into the night again
But then I left them dying in the light
Abandoning or neglecting positive intentions in the light again
Pickin' wildflowers into the night
Repeating the comforting activity of picking wildflowers again
Thought about bringing them home a thousand times
Contemplating the idea of sharing joy with others again
Picking wildflowers into the night
Continuing the soothing activity into the night again
But then I left them dying in the light
Abandoning or neglecting positive intentions in the light again
