Twenty-five years and my life is still

Trying to get up that great big hill of hope

For a destination

I realized quickly when I knew I should
Realizing the need for action when the realization of life's challenges sets in
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of man

For whatever that means
Questioning the significance of such interconnectedness
And so I cry sometimes
Admitting to occasional emotional release through crying
When I'm lying in bed just to get it all out

What's in my head
Wondering about the thoughts and emotions present in the mind
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar
Feeling a sense of peculiarity or strangeness
And so I wake in the morning
Beginning a new day and facing the outside world
And I step outside
Stepping outside as a symbolic act of engaging with the world
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
Taking a moment to breathe deeply and experience a heightened state
And I scream from the top of my lungs
Expressing intense emotions by screaming from the top of one's lungs
What's going on?
Posing the question "What's going on?" to the world
