Nowadays, there's a sense of uncertainty or chaos where almost anything is acceptable or permissible.
Good authors too
Even respected writers who used to choose their words carefully now tend to use simple, possibly offensive language.
Who once knew better words
Authors who were once more sophisticated in their language now limit themselves to using curse words.
Now only use four letter words
In their writing, they opt for more straightforward and possibly vulgar expressions.
Writing prose, anything goes
When writing prose or literary works, there are no longer strict rules or boundaries.
The world has gone mad today
There's a suggestion that the current state of the world is chaotic or nonsensical.
And good's bad today
What was considered good or acceptable is now perceived as bad or negative.
And black's white today
Conventions or norms are being challenged, with opposites seeming to switch places.
And day's night today
There's a sense of complete reversal or topsy-turvy situations occurring.
When most guys today
Many men today who are admired by women are merely superficial, untrustworthy men.
That women prize today
Women's preferences in men today often lean towards shallow gigolos.
Are just silly gigolos
These men are viewed as foolish or insincere companions.
So, though I'm not a great romancer
Despite not being extremely romantic, there's confidence in knowing there will be a response.

Perhaps from the constant exposure to media influences like radios.
So, though I'm not a great romancer
Despite not being highly skilled in romance, there's an expectation of a positive response.

Confidence in expecting an affirmative answer when proposing.
When I propose
