Years ago, I knew a man,

But when the daddy went away

It was such a rainy day
Emphasizing the gloomy atmosphere with rain.
That he brought out all his toys
The boy seeking solace in his toys during the father's absence.
And how the mother did explain
The mother attempting to explain and alleviate the pain.
Trying to take away the pain
Her efforts to ease the son's suffering.
But, he just couldn't understand
The boy struggling to comprehend his father's absence.
That his father was not a man
Realization that the father was not a genuine man.
And it all was just a game
Suggesting that it was all a deceptive game.
The years have passed and so have I
Reflecting on the passage of time and personal growth.
Making it hard for me to cry
Expressing emotional difficulty in crying as time passes.
And if and when I have a son
Contemplating the prospect of having a son.
Let it all be said and done
Desiring closure and resolution for future generations.
Let the sadness pass him by
Wishing to spare future generations from sadness and pain.
