I perceive tolling bells in the valley.
I hear longing in the shadow around me
I sense a deep yearning in the shadows around me.

Expressing that being grounded doesn't necessarily imply being settled.

Despite challenges, I am told that it becomes easier.
Watching a good thing die—
Observing the demise of something valuable.

In the morning I see righteous conviction
In the morning, a strong sense of moral certainty about myself.
That I am someone who someone should listen
A belief that I am worthy of being heard and respected.
But by night I see a fool in the moon's glow
At night, recognizing foolishness in the moonlight.

I smell the shame & the anger we share
Sensing shared feelings of shame and anger.
I smell the sorrow rank & unrelating

It's been hard to watch the world as it's ending
Expressing difficulty in witnessing the world's decline.
