She passed around a potion - it went from lip to hand

A potion is offered, and it circulates among the group.

I took a sip, a taste I didn't understand

I consume a small amount without fully understanding its nature.

I threw the sucker to the floor

I forcefully remove the cause of discomfort, throwing it away.
