Toast and Tea
Stolen Moments: A Song of Passion and DepartureLyrics
Well, what do you know
Expressing surprise or curiosity about a situation.
Here I go
Beginning an action or endeavor.
Racing into you again
Quickly engaging or involving oneself with someone.
Well, enough said
Acknowledging enough has been stated or expressed.
Race you to bed
Playfully suggesting a race or competition to bed.
I need that feeling again
Desiring a specific emotional or physical sensation.
Without a word we realize
Realizing a mutual understanding or connection without verbal communication.
There's something missing from both our lives
Sensing an absence or lack in both lives.
And we both close our eyes
Closing eyes, possibly to intensify or focus on the moment.
Well, here were are
Present in a dark or obscure place.
In the dark
Sharing the same air in a confined space.
Breathing from the same moist air
Maintaining a cheerful demeanor despite circumstances.
And, for a while
Displaying a lack of concern or worry.
We wear a smile
Making a non-verbal gesture to leave or depart.
As if we haven't a care
Feeling closer and embracing something in bed.
Without a word I turn to go
Not remaining for breakfast or additional company.
You're holding closer to my pillow
Content with the previous night's experience.
And the morning signs start to show
Anticipating a return due to past familiarity.
And I know that
Leaving with a sense of fulfillment or accomplishment.
I'm not staying for toast or for tea
Enjoying the present moment without expectation for more.
We had last night and that's enough for me
Commitment to the current situation without future promises.
You know I'll be back
Indicating a recurrent pattern or cycle of returning.
Cause I've been here before
Assuring completion of the visit or interaction.
And I'll leave complete
Leaving a sense of desire or longing for additional encounters.
And I'll leave you wanting more
Passage of time where emotions fluctuate.
Well, the weeks go by
Emotional expression through tears or frustration.
Sometimes you cry
Offering comfort or support during distress.
Sometimes you curse my name
Seeking emotional or physical restoration.
Well, enough said
Reiteration of having said enough about a topic.
Let me hold your head
Providing emotional solace or reassurance.
You need that healing again
Desiring emotional healing once again.
And without a word we harmonize
Harmonizing without words, possibly through actions or feelings.
And thank the Lord for these stolen times
Expressing gratitude for stolen moments together.
And we both close our eyes and know that
Closing eyes to acknowledge a mutual understanding.
I'm not staying for toast or for tea
Reiteration of not staying for breakfast or prolonged company.
We've got right now and that's enough for me
Satisfaction with the present moment, not seeking more.
You know I'll be back
Assurance of returning due to access or familiarity.
You gave me keys to your front door
Granting access to personal space or life.
And I'll leave complete
Leaving with a sense of completion or fulfillment.
And I'll leave you wanting more
Leaving with the other person desiring additional encounters.
I'll leave you unfulfilled and wanting more
Intentionally leaving the other person unsatisfied or longing for more.
