Bears all it's children soon away
Time takes away all individuals as they age and pass away.
To fly forgotten as a dream
Life is fleeting and fades away, like a forgotten dream.
Dies at the opening of the day
Life ends with the dawn of a new day.
Oh, hear us when we cry to thee
A repeated plea to God for protection, now for those present.
For those in peril here with me
Seeking divine help for those currently in peril.
Oh let the darkness shine as light
Asking for light in times of darkness and difficulty.
Make endless nightime to be bright
Turning the night into day, symbolizing hope and positivity.
When fear and sorrows all have passed
Anticipating a time when fear and sorrows will be overcome.
Then face to face we'll meet at last
Hopeful expectation of a face-to-face meeting after trials.
