Well, they dug for their coal till the land was forsaken

Then they wrote it all down as the progress of man

Expressing a desire for a symbolic return to the Green River upon death.

Let my soul roll on up to the Rochester dam

Wishing for the soul to move towards Rochester dam and Paradise.

Anticipating being close to Paradise after death.

Just five miles away from wherever I am
