The Miracle Man
Discovering Redemption: The Miracle Man's MessageLyrics
I've had some hard times in
I've experienced challenging times in
Years now gone by
Many years that have passed
I've had my heartaches my cup has been dry
I've faced heartaches, and my emotional well has been empty
But I've never been kicked
Despite difficulties, I've never been physically assaulted
And publicly scorned
Never subjected to public disdain
And I've never worn a crown of thorns
I've never experienced the symbolic suffering represented by a crown of thorns
But I have somebody who did that for me
However, I have someone who underwent such hardships on my behalf
The miracle man of Galilee
Referring to Jesus, the miracle worker from Galilee
I've got scars that show that
I carry visible scars that indicate the challenges I've faced
The goin' was rough
The journey has been tough
And I can remember when I almost gave up
Recalling a moment of almost giving up
But I've not been rejected by my fellow man
However, I've never experienced rejection from my fellow humans
And I've never had nails through my hands
No nails have pierced through my hands
But I have somebody who suffered for me
Yet, I have someone who endured suffering on my behalf
The miracle man of Galilee
Referring again to the miracle worker from Galilee
I've had disappointments they still
Dealing with letdowns that continue to happen
Come and go
Expressing the inevitability of suffering in human life
They say man must suffer and it surely is so
Recognizing the commonality of human suffering
I've had mountains to climb
Metaphorically faced and will continue to face challenges
And I always will
However, I don't have to endure the ultimate challenge represented by Calvary's hill
But I don't have to climb Calvary's hill
But I have somebody who did that for me
Despite not experiencing certain hardships, I have someone who went through them for me
The miracle man of Galilee
Reiterating the identity of the miracle worker from Galilee
