Lyrics

I'm gonna try to paint the world

I will attempt to represent the world through art

Just like we did when we were kids

Reflecting on childhood experiences of creative expression

I don't know where to draw the lines

Uncertainty about defining boundaries or limits

I wouldn't do it if I did

Reluctance to set boundaries if knowledge is lacking

I'll paint the trees a shade of green

Choosing a color for the trees in the artwork

I'll fill the ocean in with blue

Filling the ocean portion of the painting with blue

Use every color that I have

Utilizing a variety of colors in the artistic creation

Still couldn't paint someone like you

Expressing the difficulty of capturing someone's essence through art

'Cause I don't know when someone starts where they end

And I can't draw lines that could hold them in

Inability to draw lines that confine or define individuals

The finest line that I could draw

Referring to a subtle, almost-realistic line in the artwork

The one that almost makes it real

Despite artistic skill, unable to capture true emotions

The one that looks just like your face

Depicting an image resembling the person's face but not emotions

Still couldn't show just how you feel

Exploring the limitation of art in expressing deep emotions
