Journey of Obedience: Finding Deliverance Through ChoicesLyrics
Sometimes deliverance is standing on the shore
Sometimes finding freedom or release is like being on the shore, a reachable place.
I put away my sword and watch the waves recoil
Deciding to put aside aggression or conflict and observe the consequences.
But sometimes obedience is rolling up your jeans
At times, being obedient involves getting involved in challenging situations.
I'm wading through the weeds
Actively navigating through difficulties and challenges.
I step before I see
Taking steps forward without knowing the outcome.
The cloud stops, I lay low
Facing obstacles, but choosing a more passive approach.
The fire moves, I follow
Adapting to changes, following the lead of external forces like fire.
Keep my eyes wide, listen out
Remaining alert and attentive, awaiting guidance.
Am I to go or wait it out
Uncertain whether to take action or be patient.
There's a still, small voice saying
A quiet inner voice suggesting to either stay in place or move forward.
"Stand still," or, "Get moving"
The internal struggle between staying still and taking action.
Sometimes deliverance is pacing 'round a wall
Freedom sometimes involves persistently dealing with obstacles.
A silent daily crawl, just praying it'll fall
A quiet, ongoing effort, hoping for a positive change.
But sometimes obedience is going out to war
Obedience may require actively confronting challenges or conflicts.
I'm tearing down the door
Actively breaking down barriers, trusting in a higher power.
The battle is the Lord's
Recognizing that the outcome is beyond personal control.
The fire stops, I lay low
Choosing a more passive approach as external challenges subside.
The cloud moves, I follow
Adapting to changes again, following a new path.
Keep my eyes wide, listen out
Maintaining awareness and readiness for guidance.
Am I to go or wait it out
Still uncertain about whether to act or wait.
There's a still, small voice saying
The persistent inner voice suggesting stillness or movement.
"Stand still," or, "Get moving"
The ongoing struggle to decide between standing still or taking action.
Sometimes deliverance is not before it's hard
Deliverance or relief might not come before facing challenges.
Grapes after a spar, Canaan left a scar
Comparing the challenges to the aftermath of a fight, leaving lasting marks.
But sometimes obedience is cherishing the road
Obedience involves appreciating the journey, even with difficulties.
I'm learning as I go, keep setting up these stones
Learning and progressing, leaving markers for the journey.
I'm marking my way home with Ebenezer stones
Creating symbols (Ebenezer stones) to remember the progress on the journey home.
