Lyrics

They got fresh water where I come from

There's access to clean water in my place of origin

And if they let you in you can have some

If permitted, outsiders can also have access to it

It's no bother, you can have some of mine

Willing to share one's own water

They put chemicals in to control your brain

Authorities manipulate water with chemicals for control

But don't mind those, still tastes the same

Despite the manipulation, the water tastes unaffected

Everybody drinks it, so it must be fine

Assuming it's safe because everyone consumes it

They got fresh air, they say it's clean

Claiming clean air, though potential contaminants are invisible

If there's something in there, well it can't be seen

Indicating pollution obscured by the appearance of cleanliness

So everybody breathes it, it's just a little bit of fog

Accepting polluted air due to its deceptive appearance

They got big ol' towers that scrape the sky

Referencing imposing skyscrapers

You can climb for hours til you're way up high

Highlighting the obstructed view due to pollution

Oh the view would be brilliant if it wasn't for the smog

The water provided is harmful, affecting mental states

The water that they give you is poison

Emphasizing the water's effect on worries and perception

It washes all the worries from your mind

Indicating rationalization due to the water's influence

It makes you see reason

Referring to lesser value placed on independent thinking

It snuffs out the treasonous kind

Implying contamination despite external appearances

There's puddles round the drain

Describing contaminated areas and the illusion of purity

But there's poison in the rain

Cautioning against rainwater due to pollution

Drink any other water you can find

Advising against drinking the provided water

The children will tell you they are thirsty

Warning against allowing children to consume the water

But you must not let them drink

Fear that allowing children to conform will hinder critical thinking

Or by the time your children have grown

Concern about erasing children's ability to question

They will have forgotten they were ever allowed to think!

Fear of conditioning children against independent thought

They got fresh water where I come from

Reiteration of access to clean water at the origin

It keeps you in line, it makes your brain numb

Describing the water's influence on compliance and numbing the mind

But the children are dying, they'll have to drink some

Recognizing the peril faced by children due to the polluted water

They make you crazy

Describing the effects of the contaminated water

And then they make you like it

Implying an acceptance of the altered mental state

I'm getting hazy

Feeling disoriented due to the water's impact

I never felt nothing quite like it

Expressing a unique experience caused by the water

They make your mind shrink

Describing the water's diminishing effect on the mind

Then they convince you that you're guilty

Indicating manipulation leading to a false sense of guilt

And the more that you drink

Highlighting the addictive nature of the polluted water

The more it makes you feel thirsty

Increasing thirst as a result of consuming the contaminated water

The water from the creek tastes fresher

Comparing the purity of natural water to the polluted one

They don't put anything in there

Emphasizing the lack of contamination in natural water sources

Pure H2O, and it seems to flow from nowhere

Describing the source of pure, uncontaminated water

Drinking it will free you

Suggesting freedom through consuming pure water

Just don't let them see you

Advising secrecy to avoid repercussions for drinking pure water

They'll hang you for that, beware

Warning of severe consequences for defying the norm
