I stand at the window looking out
I am observing the surroundings from a window.
Waiting for something, I don't know what
Anticipating something, but uncertain about what it is.
They don't see me so they're not scared
Others are unaware of my presence, so they are not frightened.
But they tread lightly everywhere
They move cautiously and lightly to avoid causing disturbance.
Here comes the darkness
The onset of darkness is approaching swiftly.
It comes down fast
The darkness descends rapidly.
Run to the ocean
Suggestive of escaping or seeking solace by reaching the ocean.
Leave tracks in the sand
Leaving visible marks on the sandy shore.

There's a bird on a branch at the top of the tree

We wanted the world to give us a chance

Now we're pushed out to the edges
Feeling marginalized or pushed to the outskirts of society.
If we stand still blinded by the lights
Contemplating whether staying motionless under bright lights leads to harm.
Is it murder or suicide?
Pondering the consequences, questioning if it's an act of violence or self-destruction.
Here comes the darkness
Reiteration of the impending darkness descending quickly.
It comes down fast
The pace of the darkness intensifies.
Run to the ocean
Reiteration of heading towards the ocean, possibly for solace.
Over the sand
Leaving imprints on the sandy surface as one moves forward.
Here comes the darkness
