I have faced a lot of sorrow in my life.
Had the best of friends turn to foes
Even close friends have betrayed me.

Said He'd never leave me, nor would He forsake me
Despite challenges, I believe that God will never abandon or forsake me.
At times it was hard to believe, that the God of love still loved me
There were moments when it was hard to believe in God's love for me.

The flowers they need the rain to grow He allows the pain just so you would know
Just like flowers need rain to grow, God allows pain for personal growth and understanding.
He is God and He can take the pain away I've matured in Him and now I can say
God, being omnipotent, can alleviate pain, and the speaker has matured through these experiences.
