The boat silently sinks, possibly representing failure or struggle.
And nowhere can I draw shadows
Struggling to find clarity or understanding in life.
But I can see better without the light
Seeing better without external influences or distractions.
Hard times give me your open arms
Challenges are welcomed with open arms, learning from difficulties.
Make me a pallet to lie down on
Asking for comfort and stability during hard times.
And hold me so I won't try to run away
Seeking emotional support to prevent escape from challenges.
Cover my eyes for tomorrow
Shielding from the harsh realities of the future.
Used to be farther above me
Previous challenges seemed insurmountable.
And longer behind and darker and kind
Past times were longer, darker, and more difficult.
