Lyrics

I come from just the other side of nowhere

I come from a distant place with no particular significance.

To this big time lonesome town.

I arrived in this large, lonely city.

They got a lot of ice and snow here,

This place has a lot of cold weather, akin to the coldness of the people here.

Half as cold as all the people I've found.

The people here are as cold as the weather, making it challenging.

Every way I try to go here seems to bring me down.

Every attempt I make to improve my situation brings disappointment.

I've seen about enough to know where I belong.

I've experienced enough to understand where I truly belong.

I've got a mind to see the headlights shining

I strongly desire to return home, represented by the headlights on the road.

On that old white line between my heart and home.

My longing is to be back where my heart feels at peace.

Sick of spendin' Sundays wishing they were Mondays

I dislike spending Sundays, wishing for the weekdays, feeling lonely.

Sittin' in a park alone.

Feeling isolated and alone while sitting in a park.

So give my best to anyone who's left who ever done me

Pass on my regards to those who have shown me love and kindness.

Any lovin' way but wrong.

But never in a way that was deceitful or harmful.

Tell 'em that the pride of just the other side o nowhere's

Let them know that I, proud of my origins, am returning home.

Goin' home.

Takin' nothin' back to show there

I'm not taking any physical possessions back home.

For these dues I've paid.

I have paid my dues but have little to show for it.

But the soul I almost sold here

I almost sacrificed my integrity here.

And the body I've been givin' away.

I've given a lot of myself in this place.

Fadin' from the neon nighttime glow here,

Drifting away from the artificial and vibrant city life.

Headin' for the light of day,

Heading towards a more genuine and pure environment.

Just the other side of nowhere, goin' home.

Returning to my place of belonging.

I've got a mind to see the headlights shinin'

I have a strong desire to see the road leading me back home.

On that old white line between my heart and home.

Sick of spendin' Sundays wishin' they were Mondays,

Disliking Sundays, wishing for a different reality.

Sittin' in a park alone.

Feeling alone while surrounded by people.

So give my best to anyone who's left who ever done me

Send my regards to those who have shown me genuine affection.

Any lovin' way but wrong.

But only in a way that's true and right.

Tell them that the pride of just the other side of nowhere's

Inform them proudly that I am returning home.

Goin' Home.

Just the other side on nowhere, goin' home.

Heading back to my place of belonging.
