Standing still here for a moment
Feeling stagnant and motionless momentarily
Breath held tightly in my body
Consciously holding my breath, tense with anticipation
A world that's growing darker
Describing a world becoming darker and more negative
Not worth a longer stay
Expressing that the current situation is not worth prolonging
All the wisdom that I earned
Despite acquired wisdom, unable to change the current state
Can't make a change to this state
Wisdom is ineffective in altering the prevailing conditions
As I lay down my spirit's arms
Surrendering one's inner strength and resolve
On my knees to seal my fate
Kneeling down, accepting and sealing one's fate
I cast my hopes into the waters
Putting hopes into uncertain circumstances
Awaiting judgement from the sea
Anticipating judgment, possibly from nature or the sea
And someday the tide will rise
Believing that eventually, consequences will unfold
Up so high to swallow me
Expecting a significant event or change to overwhelm
Collapsing pride and fading joy
Experiencing a collapse of pride and diminishing joy
Are marking my capitulation
Acknowledging surrender and acceptance of defeat
To a world that cries in pain
Describing a world filled with suffering and decline
And slowly dies in misery
Highlighting a world slowly succumbing to unhappiness
Come the demons of my soul
Referring to inner demons influencing thoughts and actions
To carry my sane mind away
Desiring an escape from a rational state of mind
I'm just a noble soul of honour
Identifying oneself as an honorable soul led astray
Who has left its way
Expressing a sense of having lost the right path
Cast my thoughts into the water
Throwing thoughts into uncertainty or an unpredictable future
Awaiting judgement from the sea
