Lyrics

At first I wondered why they only speak to each other

Initially puzzled by their exclusive communication

It took me some time to understand

Took time to comprehend their situation

That they cannot see or hear any of the crowd

Unable to perceive or interact with the surrounding crowd

After observing their childlike behaviour I understood

Understanding their childlike demeanor led to comprehension

They were two little children stuck in the bodies of grown ups

They appeared as adults with childlike innocence

To the girl I said: "You are lady,"

Addressed the girl as "Lady"

To the boy I said: "You are a bird, but you cannot fly,"

Referred to the boy as a "Bird" who's unable to fly

They knew about the presence of other people

Awareness of the presence of others around

They knew about the sun

Acknowledgment of the sun

And at some point right before the break of day

Moment just before dawn

They could see me,

Recognition of the observer's existence

Not knowing that I come from the outside

Unawareness of the observer's external origin

On the seventh day she looked up at me

After a certain period, the girl acknowledged the observer

And said: "I am lady,"

Confirmed her identity as "Lady"

And the boy said: "I am bird, but I cannot fly,"

Repeated the identification of the boy as a "Bird" unable to fly

You are a bird

Addressing the observer as a "Bird"
