Something extraordinary and enchanting occurred on a certain day.
Fell from the sky
This magical thing descended from the sky.
And all of the people
People in the vicinity gathered together in response.
They gathered to try
A collective effort was made by the people to understand or possess the magical occurrence.
To catch it, all that they wanted
They aspired to capture the magical thing, oblivious to the fact that they themselves placed it there.
Forgetting they put it there
Despite putting the magical thing there, they lost sight of their initial intentions.
In their millions they travelled
Millions of people embarked on a journey with the hope of witnessing the magical occurrence.
In hope they might see
The closer they approached, the more elusive the magical thing became.
The closer they got
The proximity to the magical thing resulted in increased distance from it.
The more distant they'd be
To hold it, all that they wanted
Despite being the creators, they lost awareness of their role and intentions.
Forgetting they put it there
And so into the darkness
Their light was given away to celestial entities like stars and the sky.
They buried their light
And gave it away
Their precious creation was relinquished to the vastness of the cosmos.

Despite being the rightful owners, they yearned to possess the magical thing anew.
