Behind the Mirror
Journey Through Life's Melodies: Behind the Mirror by Late Night UnionLyrics
I was a child of the summer
I have nostalgic memories of my childhood during the summer.
Getting burned by the sun most every day
I frequently experienced sunburns from spending time outdoors.
My best friend was my mother
My mother was my closest and most significant companion.
Road trippin' to the concerts where we'd spend our days
We used to go on road trips to concerts, creating lasting memories.
I would watch them sing and play
I enjoyed watching performers on stage and dreamed of being there.
Picturing myself up on the stage
I envisioned myself as a performer while watching concerts.
Now I've become a man
I've grown into adulthood.
But I've never really learned to act my age
Despite aging, I haven't fully embraced mature behavior.
Well I might be crazy when I reach the end
I might exhibit eccentricity as life progresses.
Surrounded by family my love and all my friends
Anticipating being surrounded by loved ones at the end of life.
We all have our time and we never know quite when we'll go
We all have limited time, and the uncertainty of death looms.
Behind the mirror
Contemplating the unknown afterlife.
No fear of another life
Facing the afterlife without fear.
Begin again
A new beginning after death.
From darkness into light
Transitioning from darkness (death) to light (afterlife).
I've got a wife and two daughters
I have a wife and two daughters who surpass me in many aspects.
Who are better than me in most every way
My family keeps me humble and accountable.
They keep me sweet and honest
They prevent me from getting away with wrongdoing.
So I don't get away with much of anything
My family instills hope and honesty in me.
They give me hope for tomorrow
My family gives me optimism for the future.
Cuz I get no hope from the news I hear
Contrast between personal hope and the discouraging news.
And they've erased my sorrow
Family erases my sorrows, and joyous tears replace sad ones.
Now tears of joy are my only tears
Tears shed now are only tears of happiness.
Well I might be crazy when I reach the end
I might still be unconventional as life nears its end.
Surrounded by family my love and all my friends
Expecting the presence of family and friends at the end.
We all have our time and we never know quite when we'll go
We all face mortality with uncertainty about our time of departure.
Behind the mirror
Reflecting on the mysteries beyond life, possibly an afterlife.
No fear of another life
Approaching the afterlife without fear.
Begin again
Embracing a new beginning after death.
From darkness into light
Transitioning from the obscurity of death into the clarity of an afterlife.
