Lyrics

Wasting time

Feeling unproductive or wasting time

Going nowhere

Lack of progress, going in a direction without purpose

In my mind

Reflecting on thoughts within one's mind

I’m alright

Expressing a sense of well-being or being okay

To get by

Finding ways to cope or survive

On the way down

Descending, possibly emotionally or mentally

Glorified suicide

Alluding to a glorified form of self-destructive behavior

Now it’s on fire

Current situation is intense or chaotic

There’s nowhere left to wander

No clear direction or purpose left

Soon everyone dies

An acknowledgment of the inevitability of death

We’ll never find another

Fearing the inability to replace or find an alternative

Lose your mind

Suggesting a loss of mental stability

Find a lover

Seeking comfort or solace in a relationship

Watch them cry

Witnessing emotional pain in a loved one

Nothings right

Expressing a feeling of things being wrong or out of place

Wish I died

Desiring a release from life's challenges

Sometime last year

Reflecting on a difficult or challenging past

Hope i find

Hopeful for a positive change or discovery

Dawn tonight

Anticipating the arrival of a new beginning or enlightenment

Now it’s on fire

Reiteration of a chaotic or intense situation

There’s nowhere left to wander

Feeling lost with no clear path or destination

Soon everyone dies

Acknowledging the inevitability of universal mortality

We’ll never find another

Fearing the inability to replace or find an alternative on a global scale

Maybe it’ll happen a billion years from now

Speculating on the occurrence of a significant event in the distant future

When the sun finally burns all it’s hydrogen

Contemplating the end of the sun's life cycle

Or maybe it’s only a matter of months until we kill ourselves with nuclear war

Considering the possibility of self-destruction through nuclear war

Years ago when I was younger

Reflecting on a time when the speaker was younger

I didn’t think about how the end would look or sound or feel

Not considering the details of the eventual end

but the way our world and it’s people have seemed to move backwards in thought has pressed this idea up to the front of my skull

Observing a regression in societal thought

And I’m looking out my window

Current contemplation of a terrifying future

A hundred years from now as a member of a future generation

Projecting oneself a century into the future

And what I’m seeing is terrifying

Perceiving a frightening future for future generations
