I know You're calling me higher
I acknowledge that You are calling me to a higher purpose or spiritual level.
But I'm wired
However, my natural inclination or disposition is set to seek comfort and convenience.
To want comfort and ease
My tendency is to prefer a life of ease over the challenges of following Your higher calling.
And I know You're calling me higher
I recognize that You are urging me to a higher spiritual plane.
But I've got to fight the desire
Yet, I struggle with the strong desire to succumb to ease and not engage in the necessary fight to pursue Your calling.
To just sit back, and go to sleep
I face the temptation to passively retreat and avoid the effort required to fulfill Your calling.
I know You're calling, I know You're calling me
I am aware that You are calling me.
But sometimes I'm so far behind You I wonder if I'm really following
At times, I feel distant from You, questioning if I am truly following Your path.
I'm caught in complacency
I find myself stuck in a state of self-satisfaction or smugness.
Why do I worry that I walk alone
Why am I anxious about walking alone when I know that You are patiently waiting for me?
When I know that You wait for me?
I acknowledge Your waiting for me and preparing a place for me.
You made a place for me
You have created a space or purpose specifically for me.
I know You're calling me higher
I am cognizant of Your call to elevate my spiritual journey.
But I think I need a reminder
However, I feel the need for a reminder or reinforcement of Your calling.
Tell me again of Your kingdom
Please elaborate again on Your kingdom and its significance.
Tell me again of Your oneness
Reiterate the concept of Your oneness or unity.
Tell me again of deliverance
Repeat the message of deliverance or liberation.
Tell me again of my sonship
Explain once more the idea of my sonship or belonging as Your child.
Tell me again of Your people
Tell me again about Your people and their dependence on You.
Tell me again how they need you
Remind me of the continual need for Your presence and support among Your people.
Teach me again how to listen
Instruct me anew on how to attentively listen to Your guidance.
Put me right back on my mission
Realign me with my mission or purpose.
