Highlighting the danger of the location.
To give the Hangman a new meaning
The village decides to redefine the hilltop's meaning.
The whole village from close by
The entire village collaborates.
Set to build a stonern lighthouse
They construct a stone lighthouse.
As a beacon of life
Intending it as a symbol of hope and life.
And the ward was a woman
The caretaker of the lighthouse is a woman.
Who had lost her love and heart
She has endured the loss of her love in a storm.
In a storm years ago
Years later, she remains hopeful.
She still keeps a hopeful spark
Retaining a flicker of hope in her heart.
In that spirit she climbs up there
With determination, she ascends the hilltop.
Sure to start the fiery light
She ignites the lighthouse, symbolizing life.
Then she’ll watch from the tower
Observing from the tower in the darkest hours.
In the dead of night
During the night, she maintains her watch.
Many months and moons later
Months pass, and she continues her routine.
She still creeps up those stairs
She climbs the stairs persistently.
It takes longer and longer
The effort becomes more challenging over time.
But she doesn’t despair
Yet, she remains undeterred.
Then the day comes at last
Finally, the day arrives when she succumbs to death.
And she lies down to die
She lies down, her hands clutching her chest.
Both her hands clutch her chest
Despite the end, there is hope reflected in her eyes.
There is hope in her eyes
Her enduring hope persists until the last moment.
