Anticipation of learning about power dynamics and conflicts in life.
And if you want to get your little finger painting fingers dirty
Encouraging engagement in life's challenges and not shying away from getting involved.

At sixteen and pacing, his hormones are racing
Exploring adolescence, hormones, and pursuit of romantic interests.

Criticizing the disregard for moral values and conscience.
It’s nonsense he says, history is dead
Rejecting the significance of history and past mistakes.
And so are the skeletons hidden under my bed
Acknowledging personal faults and mistakes of the past.
35 and steady, ambitious and ready
Describing a mature stage in life with ambition and readiness.
Open hand to the common man his burden now heavy
Being supportive and helpful to others, carrying a heavy burden.
Run down he became, moral fabric for fame
Experiencing a decline, possibly in moral integrity, for the sake of fame.
Mark Chapman was a killer but you remember his name
Referencing Mark Chapman as an example of a notorious killer remembered for his act.
