Reflecting on a new day, questioning why.
When we were younger and out of time
In our youth, when time was abundant...
We were so fragile in our minds
...we were mentally fragile.

And so the days went by
As time passed...
Now we are here asking why
...we find ourselves here, questioning existence.
Nobody wants to say goodbye one more time
Nobody desires to bid farewell once more.
We're getting older and unkind
As we age, we become less compassionate.
And getting stoned and so blind
Engaging in substance use and losing clarity.
Please love now and don't say goodbye
Advocating for love now, resisting goodbyes.
We are looking through the sky
Gazing at the sky...
Asking to god for something mine
...seeking something from God that is ours.
Give us hope or love or mind or bring us back to life
Begging for hope, love, clarity, or a revival.
We never told you that we are kind
Admitting our inherent kindness.
We want to hold you in our eyes
Desiring to hold you in our gaze.
Please believe us: we never wanted to die
Please believe us: we never desired death.
