Breathing The Breath
Breathing The Breath: Embracing Gratitude and WorshipLyrics
We have nothing to give
We possess nothing of our own.
That didn't first come from Your hands
Everything we have comes from Your provision.
We have nothing to offer You
We cannot present anything to You independently.
Which You did not provide
All that we offer is supplied by You.
Every good, perfect gift comes from
Every good and perfect gift originates from Your loving and generous nature.
Your kind and gracious heart
It all comes from Your kind and gracious heart.
And all we do is give back to You
Our actions are a response, giving back to You what has always belonged to You.
What always has been Yours
What we offer has been Yours from the beginning.
Lord, we're breathing the breath
We acknowledge that the very breath we take is a gift from You.
That You gave us to breathe
This breath is given to us for the purpose of worshiping You.
To worship You, to worship You
Expressing gratitude and adoration through worship is the purpose of our existence.
And we're singing these songs
Our songs are sung using the breath You provided.
With the very same breath
We worship You with the very essence of life You gave us.
To worship You, to worship You
Our worship is a continual expression using the breath You granted us.
Who has given to You
No one has given to You expecting repayment.
That it should be paid back to him?
There is no debt owed to anyone who has given to You.
Who has given to You
No one has given to You with the expectation of receiving something in return.
As if You needed anything?
You lack nothing, and no one can contribute to Your completeness.
From You, and to You, and through You
All things come from You, exist through You, and return to You.
Come all things, O Lord
All creation, O Lord, is connected to You.
And all we do is give back to You
We continue to give back to You, acknowledging that everything is Yours.
What always has been Yours
What we offer has always been Your possession.
We are breathing the breath
We are conscious that our very existence relies on the breath You bestowed upon us.
That You gave us to breathe
This breath is a continuous reminder of Your gift of life.
