In some kind of way I waited for forever,
In anticipation or in some manner, I waited endlessly.
To feel some way that I cannot remember,
To experience a feeling that I can't recall.
On a weeknight in December, I had nothing left to say,
On a December weeknight, I found myself without words.
And no I can’t show you the way, cause we’re all lost anyway.
I'm unable to guide you because we're all directionless in a way.
When you said goodbye,
When you parted ways,
And you closed the door and left your life behind,
You closed the door on your previous life.
Moved away, I couldn’t stay, I had to find,

A nice place with a view because otherwise,
I needed to discover a pleasant place to reside, or else...

To experience a feeling, yet you see yourself in the mirror.
And see what you’re told is happy, and see what you’re told is free,
Observing what society defines as happiness, freedom, and wealth,
And see what you’re told is wealthy, and see what you’re told to be.
And conforming to societal expectations.
When you said goodbye,
When you bid farewell,
And you closed the door and left your life behind,
You left your past behind and physically moved away,
Moved away, I couldn’t stay, I had to find,
Leaving me unable to stay; I had to seek something else.
A nice place with a view because otherwise,
I needed a beautiful place to reside, or else...
