Recognizing the necessity of ending an unhealthy relationship and grappling with forgiveness
Because they've left you at your lowest
Reflecting on the impact of being abandoned in a vulnerable state
I don't think I believe in soulmates
Expressing skepticism about the concept of soulmates
Thinking of how complex a single person is
Considering the complexity of individuals
I can't agree that there is one person responsible for loving the entirety of another
Disagreeing with the idea that one person is solely responsible for loving another completely
Instead I believe in soul ties
Preferring the concept of soul ties over soulmates
A number of souls one finds themselves intertwined with throughout life
Believing in connections with multiple souls over a lifetime
A series of lessons that could only be learned through experience
Viewing life's experiences as valuable lessons
I've seen more of myself in every love I've found
Recognizing aspects of oneself in past loves
So I've never believed in a singular soulmate
Rejecting the notion of a single soulmate
But when you left saying you thought you'd found yours
Recalling a past partner claiming to have found their soulmate
I couldn't help but think I thought I'd found mine too
Reflecting on a personal connection with the idea of finding a soulmate
I have a bad habit of loving too late
Admitting a tendency to express love belatedly
I never say what I mean when it matters so I pen my thoughts here
Acknowledging difficulty in expressing sincere thoughts when it matters
Loving you felt like everything I thought heaven would be
Describing the intense and fulfilling experience of loving someone
So although I was raised on church benches
Referencing a religious upbringing but prioritizing personal beliefs
I forgo my beliefs to believe my heaven is here
Choosing to believe that heaven is found in the present moment
My heaven was her
